Respite is coming the way of thousands of fishermen in Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State after months of business inactivity following constant raids by suspected sea pirates. This year alone our cooperatives have lost 23 outboard engines to the sea pirates. “People said they have seen them anchoring in that particular area where the Sea pirates were using to attack the fishermen. Commenting on the return of peace to the Waterways, the Commanding officer, FOB, Ibaka, Capt. “We thank God that our small efforts have brought peace to the waterways” adding that the Base will ensure that the peace is sustained.
