Norfolk sees more than 10 per cent drop in crimes in the last year


Crime in Norfolk fell by more than 10 per cent in the last year, according to the latest figures. Data from the Office for National Statistics for England and Wales showed there were a total of 61,141 crimes in 2023, compared to 68,077 the year before – a drop of 10.2 per cent. Paul Sanford, Chief Constable of Norfolk Constabulary, said: “Essentially, this equates to 6,936 fewer crimes. Norfolk saw a drop of 10.2 per cent in crimes in the county last year. The county did though see rises in possession of weapons, which rose by 0.7 per cent, knife crime (17.3) and shoplifting (30.3).
