Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl. Officers say they were called to the Norfolk General Hospital just before 9 p.m. on Aug. 27 after paramedics brought in the teen from a home on Patterson Street in Simcoe. She was transported to a Hamilton hospital where police say she was pronounced dead. Investigators say a 40-year-old Simcoe man has been charged with trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, as well as breach of probation. A postmortem has been carried out, police say, but further testing will be done by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and the coroner's office.
