At a press conference at Kazir Deuri after the incident, Noman running from Chittagong 10, said: “The attack left at least eight BNP activists injured.”BNP leaders and activists said a group of 30-40 ruling party people attacked them when Noman was speaking at a rally. At a press conference, Noman also alleged the attack was carried out by men loyal to AL candidate from Chittagong 10, Afsarul Amin’s brother Ershadul Amin, and Jubo League leader Sumon Debnath, in order to “kill him”. He also said the police arrested five of their party members immediately after the attack. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pahartoli police station, Swadip Kumar Das, said no one lodged a complaint about the incident.
