According to The PUNCH, Akindele’s movie became the first in West Africa to cross N2 billion at the box office. Akindele is the first filmmaker to rank number one at the box office in Africa for three consecutive years. Her latest box office success outperformed previous records, including her own prior hits, and marked a new benchmark for African cinema. The initiative, which is being pushed by the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, is Nigeria’s global soft power and tourism brand.
