Noise control officers chased by chainsaw-wielding man at party

Two First Security officers were chased by a man wielding a chainsaw after issuing a noise abatement notice in Nelson in 2020. Two noise control officers sent to a Nelson property thought they were running for their lives when a man started chasing them with a chainsaw. Another security officer was sent out to assist and pump up the car's deflated tyres. After being told they were pumping up the tyres, Hogarth walked back up the driveway and found a chainsaw. For the other incidents he sentenced Hogarth to 60 hours’ community work and disqualified him from driving for six months.
