A single bench of IHC presided over by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case for hearing. At the beginning of the hearing, NADRA filed the record regarding Qadyanis who were registered in Pakistan. The judge asked that could Nadra change the religion of any Pakistani Muslim possessing a national identity card. People show their religion as Islam by lying in order to seek government job and they convert to their original religion after retirement, he added. The court, while issuing stay orders, ordered that nobody could change their religion in the future without the permission of the court.
