Business Unity SA (BUSA) CEO Cas Coovadia hopes that Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni will reconsider her comments that "the private sector wants to ensure that government collapses". Ntshavheni commented at the post-Cabinet briefing on Monday after she was asked what action the government planned to take against speculators who had manipulated SA's currency. "It [currency manipulation] is a very sad state. We have maintained over the period that the performance of the rand and sometimes the performance of the economy has been manipulated by [the] private sector, [which] has no interest in the development of this country," Ntshavheni said.
