No warrants issued vs execs over Dengvaxia deaths – Sanofi – The Manila Times

THE manufacturer of the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia said it has not received any warrants of arrest against any of its executives for the criminal charges that were filed against them in relation to the controversy. This comes after the Quezon City Regional Trial Court ordered arrest warrants to be issued against former Health secretary Janette Garin and Sanofi-Pasteur’s Stanislas Camart, Jean Louis Grunwald and Jean Francois Vacherand for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide for the deaths of Marc-Axl Eboña and Zandro Colite. In a statement sent to The Manila Times, Sanofi Pasteur said that it has not received any warrants against their officers because “there have been no convictions on all of the criminal charges filed against any of our officers.”It added that there has not been “a finding of liability on any of our officers as the litigation is still at the preliminary stages”. “We respect the legal process and our lawyers are handling the legal issues, the details of which are currently under the court’s consideration,” the vaccine manufacturer said. “In March 2020, the WHO awarded prequalification status to the Sanofi dengue vaccine underlying its quality, safety, and efficacy,” Sanofi Pasteur said.
