This victory means Bengal have virtually sealed a berth in the Super League stage of the tournament, beginning next Sunday. So did the other opener Sreevats Goswami (82 not out), taking his tournament tally so far to 219 runs. On Sunday, the duo piled on 138 runs within 14 overs that was as good as sealing the game for Bengal. On whether playing the day's first match helped, Sreevats added: "The wicket remains true even during the second match. We have the last match (of the zonal leg) remaining and we hope to win that too."
