Based on reports, Petya ransomware is the new strain virus that crippled businesses and organizations in multiple countries, particularly in Europe and US last June 27. “Petya ransomware encrypts systems after rebooting the computer. If your system is infected with Petya ransomware and it tries to restart, just do not power it back on,” it said. The department also disclosed an information from PT security, a UK-based cyber security company and Amit Serper from Cybereason. It said users can create a file “C:\Windows\perfc” to prevent Petya ransomware infection.
