The GST Chennai Zonal Unit Directorate General denied news reports that the office of actor Vishal had been raided by GST officials. An initial report said a three-member GST intelligence team had raided Tamil actor Vishal's production office today. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AT VISHAL'S OFFICEIt emerged later that the Income Tax department's TDS officials had visited the actor's office to the verify the non-deposit of TDS to the tune of Rs 51 lakh. Neither Vishal nor the account books were at the office at the time. But the employee in-charge admitted to the non-deposit of the deducted tax, and assured the team that the amount would be deposited in two or three installments.
