It pales in comparison with the previous editions where the player of the final pocketed $2,000 while the player of the tournament received $5,000. Meanwhile, the champions in the previous editions received Tk2 crores while the runners-up got Tk75 lakhs. In the previous six editions, the teams were owned by different franchises but the BBPL saw a shift in ownership as Bangladesh Cricket Board managed all the seven sides. Regarding this issue, BPL co-ordinator Saiful Manab said, “There will be no prize money this time around. So there will be no prize money."
