Councillors received a report from council staff showing what they would be paid for the coming year during a governance, communication and engagement committee meeting in Dunedin yesterday. Cr Noone, as chairman, received $140,522 and Cr Laws, as deputy chairman, received $83,920. The staff report also showed how many meetings each councillor attended in the past year. Council chief executive Sarah Gardner said council staff had also addressed the issue of commitments clashing to ensure it did not happen again.
