No parking spaces in planned new city skyscraper projectA NEW skyscraper planned for the heart of Cork city will be built without parking spaces to encourage the use of public transport. The Prism, a €20 million, 15-storey, glass-fronted, triangular building is planned for a brownfield site next to the Parnell Place bus station. From Kevin and Donal O’Sullivan, the developers also behind the Port of Cork skyscraper plan, the office is one of a number announced for the city centre recently. Planning documents submitted to Cork City Council reveal that the building will be designed with no on-site or underground parking facilities, with the developers favouring the use of public transport instead.
