It all started with an off-the-cuff quote from a podcast, when PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, spoke about how women did not eat Doritos the same way men did. She said, “They (women) don’t like to crunch too loudly in public. Because women love to carry a snack in their purse.” Her comments were interpreted as a possible hint that Frito-Lay was planning a version of Lady Doritos, and led to people roasting the brand for the “sexist” move. While the orange dust still settles on the Lady Doritos debate, it made us wonder what female chefs thought about the idea. This goes on to reinforce a variety of gender roles, one of which is the way men and women are supposed to behave during a meal.
