Toronto Public Health says they have yet to find any evidence that crowding at Trinity Bellwoods Park in late May lead to an increase in COVID-19 cases. On May 23, a warm Saturday, thousands flocked to the park to soak up the sun after restrictions on parks in the city were lifted. “COVID-19 continues to circulate in Toronto and over 65 per cent of cases reported since that day are from a close contact.”Public officials like Mayor John Tory, Coun. Tory previously told the Star that he won’t hesitate to put social distancing measures back in place if the health unit discovers a hike in cases due to crowding in parks.
