Even as Nairobi governor Evans Kidero calls on youths in the county to come out in large numbers and register as voter, many are likely to miss the registration because they lack Identity Cards. According to him, his frustration started on this day as the Makadara registrar of persons' office personnel turned him away for not having his school leaving certificate. Having completed his high school education in 2016, Areba travelled home to obtain his leaving certificate requested by the registry. Also, two of his new friends who had attained the legal age visited the Makadara office again on January 20 and managed to register and were issued with waiting cards hopping to get IDs before the voter registration exercise ends. The personnel in the office told them that their IDs were not ready. He told them to come later, on an unspecified date.
