The price of sugar which soared at the beginning of Ramadan is now back to normal, they claimed. A sack of 50 kg sugar is being sold at Tk 2,900 in New Market and Karwan Bazar. The price of vermicelli, a traditional delicacy for Eid, is same as previous year, according to wholesalers of Karwan Bazar. Prices of cardamon are between Tk 1,300 and Tk 1,380 per kg. Almonds are available at Tk 630 to Tk 750 per kg while cashews can be had by paying Tk 50 more: at Tk 870 per kg.
