No firearms, bullets used to disperse gathering near Jamuna: DMPDHAKA, Feb 06, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today said no firearms or bullets were used to disperse an illegal gathering near the state guesthouse Jamuna, the official residence of the Chief Adviser and its surroundings. The release added that the police used tear gas and sound grenades at one point to disperse the protesters. It also noted that some individuals are spreading false and misleading information on social media to misrepresent the incident. Acting entirely within legal procedures, the police dispersed the protesters without using any firearms or bullets. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police urged the public not to be misled by misinformation or propaganda regarding the incident.
