The investigation officer of the case, Ismat Ara, shared the information with journalists on Thursday after receiving the forensic report. Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of forensic department at the DMCH, said the evidence could not be found as the women were examined almost two months after the incident. The duo started the case on May 5 at Banani Police Station which claims they were raped at Dhaka’s Raintree hotel on Mar 28. Safat Ahmed, son of Apan Jewellers co-owner Dildar Ahmed, had invited them to the hotel to attend his birthday party, according to case details. Police’s Victim Support Centre is investigating the case.
