No entity can be allowed to avoid paying anti-dumping duty, as dumping of cheap steel from China was adversely affecting the Indian steel sector, the Supreme Court said today. The apex court noted that due to the policies pursued by China, the global steel industry, including that in India, has been affected. "Due to China's policies, the entire steel industry in the world has changed and has adversely affected India. We cannot allow anyone to evade the anti-dumping duty," the bench comprising Justices A K Sikri and Ashok Bhushan said. It noted that companies were importing cheaper steel from China which has impacted the domestic steel industry across the world.
