DPWH records showed that Pangasinan has four district engineers and La Union, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur have two each. The Pangasinan 1st Engineering District Office based in Alaminos City is headed by Marieta Mendoza, Second Engineering District Office based in Lingayen town by Editha Manuel, Third Engineering District Office based in Rosales town by George DC Santos and Fourth Engineering District Office by Simplicio Gonzales. La Union’s First Engineering District Office is headed by Emil Ganaden and the Second Engineering District Office by Gil Lorenzo. The Ilocos Norte First Engineering District Office is headed by Maria Venus Torio and the Second Engineering District Office by Mathea Malenab. Amid the allegations of graft and corruption, Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission Commissioner Greco Belgica said lawmakers partner with the DPWH officials in the awarding of the infrastructure projects.
