MANILA, Philippines — There are no reported casualties following the magnitude 6.5 earthquake that struck Eastern Samar, the province’s lone congressman said Tuesday. Evardone added that all roads and bridges in the province are passable despite the cracks brought by the earthquake. The congressman said there is no power in the whole province of Eastern Samar while several areas do not have cellular signal as well. Evardone assured that the Eastern Samar government is monitoring the situation and is ready to provide assistance to the victims.
