No cases of Malaysians being sold by human traffickers

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have not detected any cases of missing Malaysians that involved human trafficking syndicates, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said. “If there are leads pointing towards that, we will work with our counterparts in neighbouring countries.”He stressed public information is vital in helping the police solve cases of missing people. There have also been instances where missing people were eventually found but the police were not notified. On the case of a former MIC branch chairman who allegedly solict sexual favours from women in return for job opportunities, Fuzi said investigations are continuing. The individual, who is a school teacher, quit the party following the circulation of an audio recording of him allegedly promised a young woman employment in exchange for sex.
