Photo: ODT filesThe Queenstown Lakes District Council will not appeal a High Court decision that deemed the 100-year Wanaka Airport lease to Queenstown Airport Corporation in 2018 was unlawful. The High Court released its decision on April 21, delighting the Wanaka Stakeholders Group, which had requested a judicial review of the council's decision to grant the lease. Mayor Jim Boult said it was business as usual at Wanaka Airport. “There’s a lot of work to do right now to just keep the airport running safely for the 30 plus operators and the 300 people who work at or in support of Wanaka Airport.
