Demonetisation impact Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on November 8. The argument lost steam after the Reserve Bank said on December 12 that Rs 12.44 lakh crore worth of demonetised notes had returned till December 10. In his last budget, Jaitey had rolled out estimates on corporate tax and income tax for this fiscal. According to RBI data, the total credit deployment to agriculture was Rs 9.1 lakh crore till November 25, 2016. This means, the number would be either close to Rs 10 lakh crore or more at the end of this fiscal.
