The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, said Tapan Kanti Ghosh, the ministry’s secretary. “Considering the coronavirus situation, the prime minister has instructed us not to hold a Victory Day Parade this year,” Tapan told Dhaka Tribune on Sunday afternoon. Some regular programs will be organized at the district and upazila levels while avoiding public gatherings, the secretary said. “But there will be no parades at the district level either.”According to ministry sources, exhibitions will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on the occasion; virtual discussions will also be arranged marking the day.
