When a user buys a Nexus phone, Google provides updated for that device for 18 months from its launch date. The current Nexus phones still getting the updates, according to the company, are the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and the Nexus 6. The current Nexus phones -- the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X -- although good aren't enough of an upgrade for the Nexus 5 users.
