No girl from Narok county has been subjected to a female genital mutilation test, the Anti-FGM Board has said. “The board confirms that all girls are in school and that no girl has been paraded for FGM screening contrary to the allegations that have been circulating on social media,” she said on Tuesday. County commissioner George Natembeya last week issued a directive that schoolgirls in upper primary and secondary school would undergo pregnancy and FGM tests when reporting to school. Natembeya was criticised for the announcement with people saying the tests are an invasion of privacy and would humiliate the girls.
