Santos said the embassy was able to contact the 10 Filipinos in the affected areas and were told they are all safe. The Filipino envoy added in the report that the embassy will continue to monitor developments and stands ready to provide the necessary assistance. Earlier reports disclosed that the tremor struck the same area where another quake killed more than 600 last year.
