No Filipino casualties in Brazil, France shootings — DFATHERE have been no reports of Filipinos among the dead or injured in the recent shooting incidents in Brazil and France, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday. Four people were killed on Tuesday after a gunman opened fire right after a Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral in the city of Campinas, 100 kilometers north of Sao Paolo, Brazil. Ambassador to Brazil Marichu Mauro said the motive for the shooting was still being investigated as the gunman, who killed himself after the shooting, reportedly had no criminal record. Consul General Antonio Morales said that one of the Filipino victims was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. Morales also expressed the Consulate General’s sympathies to the families of the four people killed in the crash.
