23 Texas Tech broke away over the final 10 minutes to post a 73-58 win over visiting Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon in Lubbock, Texas. The Red Raiders led just 44-41 with 12:54 to play but then forged a 13-2 run capped by a Ramsey steal and dunk to push their advantage to 57-43 with 9:01 remaining. Texas Tech (9-3) trailed at 2-0 but never again and owned as much as a seven-point lead in the first half. The game was nearly even statistically over the first 20 minutes, with both teams shooting 46 percent but with CSU Bakersfield outrebounding Texas Tech 20-12. It was the final game before conference play for both teams (Texas Tech in the Big 12 and CSU Bakersfield in the Western Athletic Conference).
