Loyola Chicago defeated Kansas State 78-62 Saturday night in a South regional final that wasn’t ever particularly close, but still a lot of fun for everyone not wearing purple. Even when Kansas State put together a 10-0 run with about five minutes left in the game, the Wildcats were still down 13. Loyola began stretching the floor and devouring clock, and Kansas State could only foul and hope. Kansas State can look back on this tournament with pride, having knocked off one of the nation’s marquee programs in Kentucky on Thursday night.
