No ‘extraordinary difficulties’ in booking rides despite ‘transport holiday’ — Grab

MANILA, Philippines — Despite the conduct of a “transport holiday” on Monday, ride-hailing firm Grab said it has not seen any “extraordinary difficulties” in booking rides. Grab thanked its transport network vehicle service (TNVS) partners for “upholding the riding public’s interest above their own.”ADVERTISEMENT“Despite TNVS transport holiday initiated by some groups, we have not seen extraordinary difficulties in getting rides today,” Grab spokesperson Nicka Hosaka said in a statement. “Passenger booking requests were served well through efforts by TNVS drivers all over Metro Manila,” she added. TNVS drivers and operators staged a “transport holiday” and went offline from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday to protest the “inconsistent and problematic” process of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in TNVS accreditation. We will continue to keenly monitor discussions as the common goal is to address process issues,” Hosaka said.
