Tony Okafor, AwkaThe leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has called off the planned boycott of elections by IPOB members in the South-East. Kanu had earlier threatened that elections would not take place in the zone unless the Federal Government agreed to a referendum to determine the sovereignty of Biafra. The South-East governors and the apex socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, had tackled Kanu on the issue. “The signed document agreeing to IPOB terms and conditions are in our possession and will be made public in due course. As a result of which we can state categorically that Biafra is a lot closer than we think as a result of this.
