The rains which started at dawn on Friday has caused fear and panic among some residents, as they alarmed subsequent rains in the coming days could cause more damage in Nkroful. Some residents who spoke to GhanaWeb attributed the cause of the flood to recent galamsey activities in the area. They said the illegal mining activities have had effects on the only source of drinking water in the community. "We have a lot to say to the government because you look at our secondary school just here and people are doing galamsey here. They, therefore, appealed to the government to intervene and stop the galamsey activities.
