October 14 2016: Mr Ghosn meets Mrs May at Downing Street. Mr Ghosn later said he was “confident the Government will continue to ensure the UK remains a competitive place to do business”. October 31 2016: Mr Clark declines to publish the letter, citing the need to protect Nissan’s commercially sensitive investment plans. December 13 2016: Mr Tyrie says the letter sent by Mr Clark to Mr Ghosn should be disclosed. The same day it emerges Mr Clark offered Nissan support of up to £80 million to build new models in Sunderland.
