Nisha Patil: Jalgaon girl Nisha Patil to receive Bravery Award from PM


MUMBAI: Nisha Patil , a student from Bhadgaon village in Jalgaon district in Maharashtra, has been selected to receive the Bravery Award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23.She is the only one from the state and among 25 children shortlisted from across the country to receive this award. She is being conferred this award for saving a life of a six-month-old infant Purvi who was trapped inside a room which was on fire on January 14, 2015.Patil is a 12th standard student and was on her way back from college when she saw the house on fire and jumped into the fire save the child. "She was on her way back from college and that's when she saw smoke coming out from her neighbouring house and showed immense courage and alertness. She jumped inside the house and got the baby out," said an official.Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has also congratulated her on Twitter and said that the state is proud of her as she is the only one representing the state this year.
