Nintendo: Joy-Con Syncing Problems Were A Manufacturing Defect

Syncing issues concerning the left Joy-Con controller in living room mode have dogged the Nintendo Switch since launch, with users and reviewers alike reporting that frequent disconnection was causing significant gameplay problems. Nintendo has acknowledged the problem and says that it shouldn't be an issue going forward. Nintendo previously gave a statement saying that the company did not believe the problem to be widespread, and that affected users could contact Nintendo support. We've got a little more detail in a new statement originally given to Kotaku and verified by Forbes: namely that yes, there was a "manufacturing variation" that resulted in some Joy-Con controllers experiencing syncing problems. A manufacturing variation has resulted in wireless interference with a small number of the left Joy-Con.
