With the latest piece of news being that Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures have filed a trademark for the term “Ultra Shiny”. The reason why Nintendo, Game Freak and Creature are an important triumvirate is that they are the three bodies that make up The Pokémon Company. What’s more, with the release of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon on the 3DS last year, the term “Ultra” now has a special significance. If we were going to get an updated version of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon for the Switch, it would make sense that the term “Ultra Shiny” would be a part of that. After all, the likes of Pokémon Yellow was an amalgamated version of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, so it follows that if Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon were to be updated then something like Pokémon Stars would make sense.
