Nine suspected inmates of Owerri Custodial Centre have been apprehended in the Adah Foah area of Ghana. The police in Ghana confirmed the development to an online news site, MyNewsGh.com. The police subsequently proceeded to Ada Foah, where they intercepted a bus with number plate, ER 1657-14, conveying the suspected prisoners, including a female. The suspects who are still in police custody would be handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service. Our correspondent had reported that 125 inmates who escaped from the Owerri custodial centre on April 5, during an attack on the facility by gunmen, had voluntarily returned to custody.
