The country's most high-profile planning activist has turned his sights on the largest-ever proposed single private investment in the history of the State. In a submission to the planning authority on the Intel plan, Mr Sweetman states that construction or the go-ahead for the plan can't proceed without specific details of the grid connection to serve the new facility. Mr Sweetman most recently objected to a new €40m expansion at the Trump Doonbeg golf resort. Asked what motivates him in lodging his submissions, Mr Sweetman said: "I believe that the law must be complied with." Mr Sweetman has previously declared "I am a Nimby (Not In My Back Yard) and Ireland is my back yard."
