The role earned Anderson three Emmy nominations throughout the show’s nine-season run from 1984 to 1992. 'Loved his comedy, his appearances on 'SNL' (when they still had stand-ups), and 'Night Court' is one of my all-time favorite sitcoms. Anderson also appeared as Harry 'The Hat' Gittes in six episodes of Cheers, between 1982-93The actor is survived by wife Elizabeth Morgan and his two children.
