Iyiola Oladunjoye, a young Nigerian microbiologist from Ogun State, has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 Diana Award for his outstanding contributions to microbiology and his dedication to promoting one health approach, The PUNCH reports. The Diana Award, established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, celebrates the remarkable social action and humanitarian work of young individuals between the ages of 9 and 25. By emphasising the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, he has championed the One Health approach as an effective means to tackle these complex issues. Additionally, he co-founded the Youths Against HIV Discrimination Initiative, advocating for policies addressing mental health, stigma, and discrimination faced by young women.
