Nigeria is looking to get its moribund wind energy sector off the ground, with the forging of a partnership centred on development. The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigeria Wind Energy Council (NWEC). “This exciting collaboration marks a significant step forward in integrating wind energy into Nigeria’s energy mix…” said REAN. The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) signed the agreement with GWEC and the Niger State Government on wind energy development. Wind energy crucial in overall mixAccording to Frontiers in Energy Research, Nigeria currently does not produce a relatively large amount of wind energy.
