Niger State House of Assembly has passed the 2021 budget in the sum of N60,725,185,827 for the 25 local government areas in the state. The budget was passed at the plenary session after the presentation of a report by the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. Others are over N3billion earmarked for value-added tax while about N4 billion is earmarked for ten percent state allocation and over N1 billion earmarked for internally generated revenueHon. The lawmaker urged them to look inward and strategize in order to improve the revenue database to ensure maximum revenue generation. This report x-rays the lives and experiences of residents in getting clean, potable and affordable water amidst the surge of COVID-19 cases in the state.
