PETALING JAYA: Malaysian squash queen Nicol David (pic) stayed in the hunt for a record ninth Women's World Championship crown. The 33-year-old Nicol, however, had to stave off a challenge from Hong Kong's world No. 11 Annie Au for a 12-10, 11-4, 13-11 second round win in El Gouna, Egypt on Sunday. 6, who last won the world title in 2014 in Cairo, takes on either fourth seed Nouran Gohar or No. 11 seed Nour El Tayeb - both of Egypt in the quarter-finals.
