The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) in collaboration with the Climate Change Adaptation and Agribusiness Support Programme (CASP) has downscaled the 2020 Seasonal Rainfall Prediction in the CASP 727 Village Areas, 104 Local Government Areas of the 7 CASP participating States of Borno, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara. He said the FGN–CASP is promoting agriculture as a business and integrating climate change resilience adaptation measures for food security and enhanced income. The earliest rainfall onset latest date for some of the CASP States is around 22nd June 2020. The severe dry spell may last 10 to 18 days in the CASP States. Other states included in the rainfall prediction are Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara.
