GOPENG is not just a town for retirees and has potential to develop further as a tourism and agricultural hub. “Local operators have put in a lot of effort to develop these tourism products as well as several heritage museums. The first-term PKR assemblyman said since Gopeng is located near Kampar, she would suggest that both areas promote their tourism products jointly. Attractions like Kellie’s Castle, Herbal Park and Gua Tempurung in Kampar as well as those available in Gopeng could be packaged together. With so many projects coming up, Ng is confident that many from the younger generation who left for bigger cities or overseas, would return to contribute their talents to develop Gopeng further.
